Water for elephants - Sara Gruen

As a young man, Jacob Jankowski was tossed by fate onto a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. It was early part of the Great Depression, and for Jacob the circus was both his salvation and living hell. A veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was there that he met Marlena, the beautiful equestrian star married to August, the charismatic but twisted animal trainer. And he met Rosie, an untrainable elephant who was the great gray hope for this third - rate traveling show. The bond that grew amongst this unlikely their only hope for survival.

I read this book last year i liked it but for a reason i forgot to write about it here. I must confess i wanted to read it just because Robert Pattinson its on the movie but i found a good and touching story. Set on the first years of the XX century it tells us the story of the young Jacob Jankowski, filled with love and trouble, narrated by the old Jacob Jankoswi, a character i loved. I watched the movie as well its very nice adapted.

Transcurren años de penuria y crueldad, pero también de ensueño y plenitud: en el deslumbrante espectáculo de los hermanos Banzini, las emociones más profundas surgen cuando se cruzan los destinos de un hombre una mujer y la elefanta Rosie bajo la carpa del circo.

Este ibro lo leí el año pasado, me gustó pero por alguna razón había olvidado y aplazado la reseña. Confieso que quise leerlo solo porque Robert Pattinson actúa en la película basada en el libro, pero me encontré con una historia muy buena y conmoverdora. Ambientada a principios del siglo XX en un circo con animales (De los que estoy totalmente en contra) nos cuenta las vivencias de el Joven Jacob Jankowski, teñidas de dificultades y amor, narrada por el viejo Jacob Jankowski, personaje que disfruté mucho. 

También vi la película que me pareció bien adaptada, con uno que otro detalle diferente pero entretenida.
